FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions, as we are brand new, we haven’t any frequently asked questions but here are a few that we thought you might want to ask.

1) I have never been on a narrowboat how will I know what to do.

Don’t worry,  we will give you full training and ensure you are confident in all aspects of the boat before leaving you to go off and enjoy your holiday.

We recommend that you watch the boaters handbook developed by the canal and river trust for first timers:

We will send you a dvd with your confirmed booking.

3) Do I need to bring Linen?

No, we will provide all lovely bedding, sheets, pillows and towels.

4) Do I need to bring cleaning equipment?

No, we will provide you with everything you need to keep ‘Honey’ shipshape! Including, bin bags, washing up liquid and cleaning spray.

5) Suitcase or soft bag?

It is best to bring a soft bag as being a narrow boat there is limited suitcase storage space!

6) Can we BBQ?

Yes once you are moored up in a suitable place you can BBQ on the tow path, however definitely not on the boat.

7) Fishing?

Yes, bring your rod, however make sure you have the necessary license available for fishing on most of the canal  from the post office.

8) Bicycles?

Yes bring your bicycles, and they can be stored on the roof (never inside Honey) please ensure you bring a security cable, socks to cover the pedals and a suitable protective cover for the roof so the paint is not damaged.

9) Dogs?

Yes your dog is very welcome so long as it is well behaved. Remember a narrowboat space is limited so bring either one medium or two small sized dogs for your and their comfort.

Please note dogs are strictly not allowed on beds or the internal seating.

 10) How many can sleep on ‘Honey’

Honey has one lovely large fixed double at the bow of the boat

Two narrow boat singles 2ft x 6’3″

One night time double which is made by converting the day time seating area. This is surprising comfortable, very different from some sofa beds!
